A Mermaid's Tale is a captivating present day tall tale, the tale of Ryan, a 12 year old young lady compelled to move with Matt, her dad, to the diminishing angling town where he was conceived, and to live with Art, her hard mean old granddad. As she tries to fit in and make new companions she finds a mystery inlet, home to an energetic unit of dolphins and Coral, a strange young lady. As they turn out to be quick companions, Ryan discovers that Coral is a mermaid and reveals a mystery that will help the young ladies both spare the town in a touching, mythic story of kinship and reclamation.
